VOLUNTEER
UGLY ACCENT is a literary adversaria hailing from the Midwest. That being said, we are a "not for profit" literary journal that seeks to collect, publish and preserve work breeding out of this region, or having ties to this region. We have received a wonderful response from the community so far and are looking to expand our staff to add to the momentum we've already created. Event Planner
Type: Staff
Commitment: 3-6 months with option to extend
Hours: Flexible; some nights/weekends required
Location: Madison, WI and Milwaukee, WI and Chicago, IL (option to expand)
Description: This position will be responsible for the planning and organizing of UGLY ACCENT related events. We are looking for candidates in the Milwaukee, Madison and Chicago metro areas. The primary event we are seeking to implement is a monthly open mic/prose reading series in Madison, WI. We are currently seeking someone to host and promote this monthly event. Location is to be determined.
Graphic Design
Type: Staff; Volunteer
Commitment: 1-6 months with option to extend
Hours: Flexible
Location: Flexible
Description: We are seeking someone with experience in Graphic Design to procure and produce cover images, as well as contribute to design and layout of journal. Also seeking general art submissions for cover design for future issues, as well as images to include on our website.
